Welcome to Travelbee

A little about me! I am a 40 something mum of 2 who are that bit older and now living their own lives. I have always loved going on holiday, but since I have crossed that dangerous line of being 40, I realised that my priorities have changed. More recently I have decided that I want to do more than just go on holiday and I want to see more of the world and all the wonders it has to offer. Travelling can seem like an expensive hobby, but the reality is, it doesn't have to be. I don't have an extensive budget, and hope that you can find your travel wings with me as I experience travelling and  hopefully give you the inspiration you need to explore the world. I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to see the world, no matter their budget or time constraints.

Join us on a journey to explore new destinations, cultures, and experiences.

There are so many options available, whether that is doing an EDT (Extreme Day Trip), sorting your own flights and airbnb, renting a car or using public transport, guided tours, all inclusive to cheap hotels, or if you are really brave and wanting to relive, or experience your early 20s (!) there is always the option of a hostel!

I have always been an All Inclusive resort type of person with the odd tour booked in, but recently my eyes have been opened to the benefits of being let loose and not being tied to the safety of the hotel complex with food and drink whenever I want it!

I devised a bucket list of places I want to visit and sights I want to see, and slowly but surely I am starting to tick them off.

Paris

Paris is a staple bucket list destination, with the famous Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and Arc de Triomphe, all "must see" monuments to visit. I booked a long weekend from Thursday to Sunday, staying at the Mercure Paris Centre Tour Eiffel, which is ideally placed for the Eiffel Tower! I decided the easiest way to see the city was the hop on hop off bus tour. I chose the option of 48 hours with river cruise and Arc de Triomphe entry https://www.viator.com/tours/Paris/Big-Bus-Paris-Hop-On-Hop-Off-Tour/d479-6602PARHOHO?pid=P00238223&mcid=42383&medium=link. This was ideal for visiting the places I wanted without the hassle of trying to find them myself by walking as I am not the best with directions! The bus stops and picks up at 11 different locations across the city, including the Louvre museum, Notre Dame, Champs Elysees, Grand Palais and the Eiffel Tower. You can choose a 24 hour or 48 hour ticket depending on how you want to plan your trip.

Mexico

First on my list was Mexico. I have always been interested in ancient history and Egypt has been my main passion, however the more programs I watched about Mexico and The Maya, the more I wanted to see these amazing structures that civilisations used to build without the help of a JCB! Admittedly, this holiday was still using my safety blanket of an all inclusive resort, but we hired a car for a few days and ventured out to the wild to see things I probably would not have seen on a hosted coach tour!
